Cuban Dancers Are Highly Acclaimed in South Africa

Oscar Valdés, from the Ballet of Camagüey, won the gold medal in the professional category. He performed a variation of "Don Quixote".
Víctor Estévez, a student from the National School of Ballet of Cuba, won the second award in the junior category.
In the cultural event, the first award went to South African dancer Thoriso Magongwa. The best dancer in the classic category was Nathan Chaney, from the United States.
The second edition of the contest was attended by artists from Cuba, Canada, the United States, Italy, Australia and South Africa, among other countries.
